"Don't be pushed by your problems, be led by your dreams!"
I was first introduced to massage and acupuncture in my early 20s after picking up some minor injuries while training in the Brazilian martial Art of Capoeira. The therapy was highly effective in getting to and really treating the root of the problem, in comparison to taking pain killers and anti-inflammatories, which I found, only treated or masked the symptoms.
Logically minded and innately inquisitive, the sciences, biology and biochemistry, have always been an clear interest in my early academic life, evidenced by a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Nevertheless, my analytical skills also allowed me to have an immediate career the IT Tech industry which gave me and my family a stable career for many years.
My Journey into the holistic therapies truly began with a conversation with a friend who was an up-and-coming nutritionist. I felt my job in the Tech industry was no longer challenging me nor fulfilling my desire to use my scientific background and altruistic nature to help others. Whilst further researching this new interest, I realised my background, talents and other interests in Asian history and culture all aligned. It was this revelation that led me on a path of holistic health, wellbeing and alternative/complimentary therapies.
I took the decision to move away from the corporate world and pursue my true passion and assist people in solving their physical and emotional "dis-ease".
I undertook a 5 year acupuncture course as well as enrolling at the Bodyology School of Massage, subsequently qualifying as a Holistic and Therapeutic Massage Therapist and graduating from the
College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) as an Acupuncturist and Naturopath.
Along with growing my own therapy business, gaining several years of experience since graduating, I have performed post-race massages for Refuge runners at the London Marathon, been the on-site
massage therapist with Country Karma Retreats and Bromley Mindfulness Retreats as well as working as the resident acupuncturist for South London Charity Carers4Carers.
Due to my training in martial arts and my enjoyment in various types of sport as well as my education in anatomy and physiology, I have a deep understanding of body mechanics which aides me in treatments and understanding of how the body should move and work when free of pain, restrictions and trauma.
I now truly love my career as a therapist, being confidently able to help treat peoples physiological conditions using natural and ancient techniques, I hope to inspire clients with my enthusiasm for human health and wellness.
